One of the few things that is guaranteed to put me off a website is poor spelling and grammar.
Your website is often the first impression that a potential customer has of your business and it is crucial to appear professional. Personally, I don’t trust a business that doesn’t bother to check their site’s copy. What else have they overlooked?
Most of the mistakes that I see are very basic and in the age of spell checkers and online dictionaries there is no excuse for them on a business website.
If you’re not certain, get somebody else to proof read your site’s content. You don’t have to pay a professional copywriter, (in fact I have seen a copywriter’s site with a spelling mistake on their homepage!), family and friends will do but make sure that you get your copy checked before your site goes live.
Make the lasting impression of your website the quality of the products, not the badly written copy!
Your blog is interesting!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks for that Alex!
Nice to know somebody is reading this
